Photos Turn Yellow After Uploading on Facebook
- #one
so im having a weird situation with the color of my photos. the pic looks perfectly fine in photoshop and in preview..ive tried saving information technology with and without "embedding color profile (rgb)" and the problem remains.
what problem exactly? well everytime i upload the flick to the web, the web version ends upward looking duller, greyer, and where the peel looks very vibrant and almost tan in the preview and photoshop version, the same pic when uploaded to the web adapts a sallow sickly yellow hue. ive washed a side by side comparison and the deviation is huge. distressing i dont accept the pic with me then i cant upload it right now to prove u all.
whats going on here?

what trouble exactly? well everytime i upload the film to the web, the spider web version ends upwards looking duller, greyer, and where the pare looks very vibrant and almost tan in the preview and photoshop version, the aforementioned pic when uploaded to the spider web adapts a sallow sickly xanthous hue. ive washed a side by side comparison and the difference is huge. deplorable i dont have the pic with me and so i cant upload it right at present to show u all.

Are these PNG files?
How are performing the "Save"? (It matters).
If you lot're using Relieve For Web, there is a checkbox yous can plow off for "convert to sRGB"

If you're using Salve For Web, there is a checkbox you can turn off for "convert to sRGB"
i click on "salvage as" and i choose "jpeg" as the format ...and ive tried clicking "embed color contour adobe rgb 1998" and unclicking information technology.... all the other things like "alpha chanels spot colors" etc. are unclicked.
how do i 'save for web' i didnt even know that was an option in photoshop?
-edit- strangely when i do a screen capture of the bodily image in photoshop , the photograph is able to retain its vibrant color. is there whatsoever manner to do this legitimately without screen capping? it seems to be a very amateur mode. and u lose resolution

The "Save for Web and Devices" command is in the file carte below the regular Save and Save as... commands. (if you have a very quondam version of Photoshop information technology's but chosen "Save for Web...")
It gives you greater control over settings and allows yous to brand side-past-side comparisons with unlike compression settings.
run across more info nigh the color shift

The "Save for Web and Devices" control is in the file menu below the regular Relieve and Save as... commands. (if you lot accept a very old version of Photoshop it's simply called "Salvage for Spider web...")It gives yous greater control over settings and allows you to make side-by-side comparisons with different compression settings.
thanks! i was and then excited to endeavor this out hoping it would be a remedy just alas it doesnt quite practice the job.
what i similar about it is that it shows you what your current photo looks like and pretty much exactly what it will look like if u were to relieve it for web and upload it.
i tested it out and yes if you were to save a photo using the salvage for spider web method it pretty much uploads that verbal color.
the problem is, saving for web adds more saturation to the photograph. there's no manner around this information technology seems. i tried unclicking "convert to sRGB" and it changes to that verbal sallow dull yellowish colour that i dont desire. when i try clicking "convert to sRGB" it more than closely resembles the original photo, but it seems to be calculation saturation and changing the color a bit.
i tried the culling suggestions (the 3 steps to ensure colour accuracy) in this link every bit well. all 3 of those steps ensure that ur looking at the photo without the RGB settings...merely i really desire the rgb setting.
also strangely they use this photo as verification that "save for spider web" works when clearly the prototype on the left is more vibrant than the image on the right?
anybody else come across information technology?
just fyi my current color settings are:
Working Spaces
-custom
-rgb: adobe rgb (1998)
-cmyk: us web coated
-gray: dot grain 20%
-spot: dot proceeds 20%
proof setup:
-working cymk
-EDIT- a realization i just made-i but tried saving the photo regularly by clicking "save equally" and this time unclicking the "embed color profile: adobe rgb (1998) and it saves to a sallow yellow dull colour. so what i retrieve is happening is that when uploaded to the spider web (safari or firefox) it strips the photo of the colour profile causing information technology to await irksome and sallow.
how do i save the photo so that the colour profile is unstrippable? now it makes sense why the screen capped version looks great considering the screen cap doesnt have any "embedded info" information technology only takes the photo equally is.

Try (from your AdobeRGB photo)
-
Edit > Convert to Profile > sRGB
-
Save equally jpeg - uncheck "Embed Profile sRGB.
MSD
- #8
Attempt (from your AdobeRGB photo)
-
Edit > Convert to Profile > sRGB
-
Save every bit jpeg - uncheck "Embed Profile sRGB.MSD
i tried this. and while setting photos in sRGB manner looks better than a photo stripped of its adobe(1998) color profile
the color in sRGB mode is more than saturated than how it looks opened in photoshop.
my head is spinning from all these color profiles
i mean isnt in that location a style to embed the color profile and then that it cant be stripped by the web browser?
information technology also doesnt make sense that even when u salve for web in photoshop the "later on" preview information technology gives you is by no means authentic at all.
the actual saved pic looks nothing like the "subsequently" preview that they give you

Edit your photos in RGB, non CMYK.

If you save as an sRGB photograph with NO tag embedded
then
open that with your Photoshop
yous are probably opening it in AdobeRGB
which would practise what you see.
After opening the untagged Photo
EDIT > ASSIGN Profile - sRGB
and see if they brings information technology around for comparison.
(not that re-opening in PS really matters)
sRGB volition requite you the most full general web view for all of the millions of diverse computer screens out there.

Convert the contour to sRGB if it's not already. Use Salve-For-Web and check the "Catechumen to sRGB" box. If you go up to View>Proof Setup select Monitor RGB (this might be different if you utilise a custom calibrated profile, but Monitor RGB always worked for me on my MAC) So get to View>Proof Colors to turn that on. It should show y'all in your certificate window the colors you will run into when saving for web.
Been doing web pattern for years and had the same issues equally y'all when I was starting out. I never accept problems anymore.

Whenever you convert to some other color infinite your images will e'er experience a color shift. The amount varies and depends on the range of each color space and the colors in use by that image. Since you are working in CMYK and moving to sRGB (standard for web) you will always run into this shift to varying degrees.
Y'all should always piece of work in the color infinite that your final product volition be in. If these images are for spider web use and so work in sRGB not CMYK. This volition ensure that the edits you make in photoshop will more closely friction match those y'all run across in a browser.
If you are using these images for mixed output (Print / Web / etc.) then you may demand to create several unlike versions in each color infinite and attempt to match them appropriately. This is a common procedure for print media when you artist are going to print to different formats / printers each with in that location ain color space and calibrations. In image editing one size never fits all ... unfortunately.

I found the answer! I was having the same problem. Yous are probably working in 16 bit mode. go to Image > mode > eight bit.
Let me know if it works for you tooo!
